Your Hand in Mine...We Walk the Miles

Good morning, everyone! As we all sit and watch and wait for the end of the Great Race for the Presidential Win, Zane keeps being the champ we have always known he is. We had a cool photo shoot this week, but first, a medical update...
Zane is doing a couple new things. First, he's using his voice more. They aren't real words, but it's as he's trying to work some out. He mumbles and moves his mouth in response to questions I might ask him. It's really exciting and boy do I love hearing his voice again! He's also doing this rapid eye blink thing from time to time; his eyes will dart around and he will swallow again and again. It goes on for a minute or two each time. It happened on Monday earlier this week when his doc was visiting. Doc doesn't reckon it's a seizure as Zane would respond to our touch during the episode. He thinks (and I concur) that it's more likely that Zane's brain synapses are re-firing and re-wiring. Brains are powerful and they will find a way to repair and re-route things when possible. Glad to know Zane's brain wants to get working properly. It sure has been through a lot in a year and the rest of Zane keeps thriving, reminding his brain to keep at it.
So, the photo shoot. I've mentioned in the past the song "Thank You" by Led Zeppelin has taken on a new, bonding meaning for me and the Zaner. Back in September for my birthday, sis Debbie Schaal got me this poster of the song lyrics. Well, now Zane and I both donned some Led Zeppelin shirts and took a few, sweet snaps.
