Hello Everyone!
Today is just ONE WEEK out from Zane’s Celebration of Life. And we are gonna celebrate Zaner HARD. I have a BIG announcement to make, but first, some quick housekeeping things regarding logistics at the Celebration, so please read this post through to the END!
Parking could become an issue…I would recommend ride-sharing or carpooling wherever possible. The Cottage at Lake Fairview has limited parking, but you are welcome to park at the Millennium Electric lot next door. There is also a Victory World building on the other side and I’ll find out if we can use their lot as well. There will be some light finger food from Tijuana Flats, Bonnie’s famous meatballs, Cornerstone pizza, popcorn, cupcakes, water, soda, beer, wine and seltzer available while it lasts. Don’t arrive starving, though! We expect a large attendance, so it will be difficult to fully feed everyone, and we want everyone to be able to have a bite.
For those unable to attend in person, we will be going Facebook Live so tune in here next Friday at 7pm EST to watch online. Thanks to Heather for being our camera person for this big job! For those coming, there is no dress code. No need to get fancy or dolled up….wear something comfortable and colorful! It’s a celebration, not a funeral, so come to have fun! We would like everyone to bring a token, memento, photo, something...that reminds you of Zaner. There will be a basket to collect these things and a mural made of the items.
OK…now on to the BIG NEWS. Remember all the skateboard decks Zane’s friends donated so that his urn could be made from them? And remember how crazy cool of an idea it was? Well, let me blow your mind even more. The urn is completed and it’s more amazing than ever imagined. Daniel Dubois and Michael Earley really went all out. Michael worked tirelessly to get the grip tape off of the boards, then sanded down, fused together, then cut to make a “blank.” Then Daniel took over. His idea of making the urn in the shape of a skateboard wheel sparked magic and the attached photos are the result. You’re blown away, aren’t you? Told you. I’m just over the moon with this labor of love. Thanks to Zane’s friends, particularly Jack Bryan, who donated the boards and a big bow is in order for the master creators of this beautiful piece. Can I please get a round of applause for Daniel and Michael? Nothing could be more special or appropriate for my sweet #CloudSkaterZaner.
Oh...and GUESS WHAT? You can watch the creation of Zane’s urn on Daniels’s YouTube premiere THIS Sunday evening, the 26th, at 7pm, EDT. Link to watch live is below. Please join us in a bit of a Zane pre-celebration and tune in! There is also a FB event created for this so I will share that in a separate post. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cw5ZX2jAi9I
