Hello fellow Americans and all our friends around the Globe. Today is always a somber one of reflection. And very recent times are just so bleak in some areas of the world again. Add a topping of a pandemic and wow! We have quite a lot to ponder.
Was recently going through a photo album from December 2001 when I went to NYC with Zane, Mary Ellen, and her two Matts. The Zaner and Matty were just past toddler age at that time. We visited Trinity church where things were still very fresh, posters still hung of people looking for their missing loves ones and tributes as far as the eye could see. We took the opportunity to sign a tapestry to show unity with our fellow countrymen. I'm not sure Zane really knew how to even hold a marker by then. He drew the only thing he knew how to at the time. So, here he is drawing his "line of fellow unison." Also included are a few other photos of the scene. I'm not sure what's happening with my face, but I'm sure I'd just finished sobbing. It was a powerful and emotional visit to that location. And I also have no bloody idea what was with the hat, but I've still got it. Maybe I'll bring it next week for old times sake.
We followed that visit up with a trip to Strawberry Fields to honor George Harrison, who'd passed only the week before. Heavy trip for sure. More about that Strawberry Fields visit next week when I bring Zane there with me to leave some of him there in an NYC tribute. #CloudSkaterZaner
