New Aide Arriving!

Good morning #MakeZaneBetter fans! Today is the day! A home healthcare aide has been found for Zane and she will start this morning in just an hour. Her hours of availability aren't what I was looking for and English isn't her first language, but we will work with this for now. I spent the day yesterday typing out Zane's story, his daily schedule, and any other helpful things I could think of, then translated it all to Spanish which should help us get off on a good start.

In other news, Aunt Caroline and Uncle Neil came down from Virginia and paid us a visit. It was just a couple days over a year we last saw them. We pulled out of the glorious mountains of Virginia a year ago, heading back to St. Jude after a month-long break from treatment, waving from our car as we drove away. Zane was walking, talking and laughing then and we drove blissfully unaware to what we were heading back to. TODAY marks a year back at the hospital and in the next couple of weeks, some horrifying one-year anniversaries will be coming up. But rather that dread those landmark days, I'll do my best to celebrate that Zane is still here with us and still fighting on!

We do have a full body PET scan Friday to check Zane's bones and check to be sure he's still cancer-free. So, there's something specific to pray for! Take care, everyone! Back with you soon!
