Lift Up and Ride Out!

Hey guys! Promised a full update on Zane's trip in his new lift and chair, so here we go...

Friday was a milestone day at #MakeZaneBetter. Zane got to get out and bask in the sun, if even for just a short while. With the help of our RN/PT team, we used Zane's new lift to move him to his chair. Then, the kid went for a ride all around the condo and out to the pool deck and lake.

Zane tolerated the movements like a boss. We had a bit of a bump and go start, getting the wheels of the lift hung up in the area rug, and some furniture had to be moved in fast fashion. So it was a learning lesson for us. We know what NOT to do next time. I still need a few gos at it with the professionals before I'm at ease to try with just the help of one aide. We will make this a regular part of Zane's routine and as with most things, it will go smoother and smoother with practice.

Also, this lift used to belong to a 23-year old young man named Ahmad. While Ahmad isn't here on this plane with us any longer, we feel his presence here and I'd like to ask all of you to pray for Ahamd's family as they learn to carry on without him by their side. Thank you.
