Hey all! We hope all of you are having a great start to the weekend, particularly all the moms out there. A Happy Mother's Day to all the moms tomorrow! This one is a bit tough. Last year, we didn't celebrate as Zane was still in-patient at St. Jude battling SOMETHING. We never figured out what it was as his first cardiac arrest came a few days later, followed by 3 more, so focus shifted to life-saving. Yeah. Let that sink in. This coming Wednesday, May 12th will be a year to the day that Zane last walked, talked, laughed, slept in a real bed and wasn't being cared for 24/7. I'm going to do my best to celebrate that my boy is still here with me, clawing his way back and not mourn or moan over a single thing.

We have some things going on medically. Nothing too serious, but some things are a little out of whack still so some tests are upcoming, Still trying to work out the PET scan, They've cancelled our appointment twice now. We have the next reset for Wednesday and I'd really like that day to go well, so I hope they don't cancel again. Some BS insurance authorization hang-up (of course).

We did have some special visits recently. Nathan & Matthew (Zane's besties) and Pearl (another close friend to Zane) came to spend time with him when he was REALLY having a rough few days. Pearl asked to play my guitar and she's inspired me to get back to learning to play again. I can't tell you how long it's been since I played it. I'd be ashamed to actually know how long, to be honest.

Also, some gifts for Zane have come in and we'd like to thank Kimberly Taylor and her family for the Scooby socks and the Lotus flower necklace. She taught me that the lotus flower is known for its beauty as it blossoms and grows from a dark, dirty environment. And XAmyx XCoatesx has send an inspiring necklace and bracelet combo. Zane is wearing the bracelet that says "Stronger Than The Storm" and the necklace is on the custom-made painting sis Amber had made for Zane and it says "Love Me Until I'm Me Again." Amen, sisters! Also, Mary Ellen gave Zane's the "Mine, Mine" socks and a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses (pictures of him rocking those to come soon!)

We are so blessed to have so many loving people in our lives. Thanks to you all for riding along this crazy train with us. It helps having you all on board with us! #MakeZaneBetter
