Hello from the mountains of Virginia! We got in late last night. Trip went great and the new Zaner car was fantastic on his first journey!
We had a special visit with a fellow St. Jude family while passing through Florence, SC on our way up. Dean and Terri, parents of Tripp, were able to take a break from their work days to have a late lunch and get caught up. Their son Tripp was diagnosed with medulloblastoma one month after Zane and they became our neighbors in St. Jude housing. As they were one month behind us in treatment, we were able to help them find their way through those scary first weeks at St. Jude and understand the system, letting them know what to expect. Zane, Tripp and another patient Hope were the tri-fecta of "older" E-Clinic patients with this particular diagnosis in treatment at the same time. So, as you can imagine, the three of our families bonded.
I would like to report that Tripp is doing fantastic. He's been cancer-free since treatment and is enrolled in college. He does go back to St. Jude next week for a new round of scans, so please keep Tripp and the Lisenby family in your prayers. There is also a foundation set up for St. Jude in Tripp's name and I'll get that link to you. Tripp's family has created an endowment that will continue to grow and their goal is to give back 100% of the funds spent on Tripp's treatment back to St. Jude. They just sent their first check, so please get involved if you desire. Visit Dean on FB and find your way to Prayers for Tripp to see how it works.
And Hope is also getting better and better. She's still struggling with eye issues and has had some surgeries to correct her vision, but she is getting stronger and stronger. Please keep the Mullins family in your prayers as well.
Today is a work day so, back to that window on the computer from my outside back porch office.
