Keep breathing, keep healing.

Look who's still breathing on his own! He's gone all night, since 7 o'clock! There were some moments he would cough a lot. This is normal as secretions build up and if a patient can't couch it up, they have to be suctioned. Zane's coughs are strong (a good sign), so strong sometimes he lifts off the bed and once he's knocked his head on the siderail, but they aren't always productive. So we were up every hour or so suctioning until after 4am, when we finally gave him a relaxing med that will break up his secretions. This kid is a fighter. He's still resting and I told the nurses to round to him last. Leave him be!
