Morning everyone! We are still at the hospital. We are stepped down from ICU to PCU (Progressive Care). Zane's last surgery has really rocked him. Or maybe it's all three wearing him down. But the last 3 days he's not been as active as we would like. But we keep trying! Today he may get his bandages off and stitches out and hopefully have a shower. Still hoping to get him outside and enjoy some beautiful Florida sunshine. So, things going a bit slower than we hoped, but baby steps still get us to our goal! Once he builds up some strength, we can get released to rehab, then home.
Meanwhile, research is underway to sort out Zane's best options for the cancer treatment. Since his medulloblastoma tumor is usually present in children, we are talking with St. Jude Children's hospital, as well as the NCI in Bethesda and some local Florida options. We are learning that emerging Proton Beam Therapy is the treatment we are seeking. So please pray he's accepted to where he's supposed to be.
