Shunt/Drain Surgery Recovery

Zane Update: The EVD (external drain) is out and the PV (internal drain) is in. It was a rough go last night. He was in a great deal of pain, more so than anything up to this point which surprised me really. It took some meds, some TLC and some patience but we finally got him rested. I suppose up until now he hadn’t had a foreign object inserted and then run down through his body. He had a burning sensation that really made him writhe with pain. He’s still resting now. Had a scan last night and things look good with it though. Waiting on some news when we will get off ICU floor. He will have be to independent from certain pain meds before that happens I’m told. And after last night’s pain, that may tie things up. Fingers crossed he has a better morning. Picture is Vegas this past September. #MakeZaneBetter
